Do They Really Look False?

Before finding out what's false, I must give an honest apology for my absence this week. School is in full swing for the second semester and I'm excited for what is to come. Now on to the review. I made a recent trip to the drugstore hoping to try out Maybelline's Rocket mascara, which has been advertised in every magazine I opened. Sadly, there was not a single tube in stock. Still in the mood for a new mascara I decided to jump on the Falsies bandwagon. I know that I am a year late, but I think it was worth the wait. Here are the before and after pictures.

After:

I purchased the mascara in black drama. You cannot see too well how my eyelashes are without mascara, but they decent length and cannot be tamed. With the falsies my eyelashes want to go inward instead of flare out. I don't if it's the formula, but the next I would try the Falsies Flare. A pro is that my eyelashes do look a tad longer and when I'm not up close they actually look nice and dramatic. But is the Falsies worth all the hype? No, but it is an affordable mascara that give the desire look most girls want, long, dark, and dramatic.

New Boots/ Review

Yes, I know that I have already posted a boot collection, but I did warn you not to be surprised to find another pair of boots on here. I  must was recently blessed by my parents with a present from Frye for my good semester grades. You're probably wondering," Frye boots just for making good grades?". But let me tell you that these are a pair of boots that I'll have for years. Probably for a lifetime.

Meet my Billy Pull On boots in dark brown. I purchased these from the Frye website in a size 8.5. After reading reviews, I decided to get the boots in a 8.5 ( I'm originally a size 8) since they did not sell boots in this style for wide feet. The price of the Billy styled boot is $268, but I did not have to pay for shipping or tax. Another question you might have is, "Sarah, why cowboy boots?". Well, I am a born and raised Southern girl  and felt that it was time for me to add a pair of high quality cowboy boots to my collection. Originally, I was going to purchase a pair of blinged out "Southern Belle" cowboy boots. You know the kind with s touch of zebra or are drenched with studs.

I will not forget that fresh smell of new leather when I opened the box. These boots have this beautiful vintage leather that is stitched with a cool Western design. Even the sole gives the boot a vintage style, since it looks slightly worn. The Billy boot goes a little passed my calf. The dark brown color makes the boot very universal. So I can dress this up with a white button down and maroon cardigan to wear to church. Or pair it with a flirty floral dress from Brandy Melville. So you are able to wear it with  your best fitted jeans or show off your legs in a dress or skirt. Like it says on the site it is a little hard to put the boot on the first time. But once they are on it feels like heaven. I was slightly afraid that the boot might be stiff and cause my feet to blister. Thank goodness, none of that happened. I walked around my house for a few hours in them and did not want to take them off. I must warn you that the sole of the boot is very slippery, but it helps to walk on the heel first and then  place the rest of your foot down when walking. Overall, the boot fit my foot very well, and the shipping was great. I recommend this to any of my Southern sisters or a girl that just what to rock a pair of boots.
"  These boots are made for walking, and that just what they do!"

Sarah E.'s Winter Beauty Essentials

It is now winter, and that means you must give more TLC to your body and hair. I have selected a few items as my winter essentials. Feel free to comment below with your winter must haves.
My would first winter essential is water. It is essential to keep your body hydrated with water especially as the weather gets harsher. Water helps and prevents all of the cons of winter: chapped lips, flaky skin, dry scalp, etc. So, before you leave the house don't forget your bottle of water.
You will not catch me without any type of lip product in winter. These two items ( left to right: C.O. Bigelow SPF 15 Mentha Lip Balm and C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm) helps to keep my lips soft and smooth and ready for any lip color I want to apply. I use the Mentha lip balm several times during the day, but save the night balm for before bed so can work as a deep conditioner for my lips. Before applying either product you can use a lip scrub.

My handy-dandy Clarisonic Plus is an item that keeps my skin glowing like it was summertime. This is a great exfoliator for the body and face. After using the brush head for sensitive skin and brush head for  body, my skin is soft like a baby's bottom and free of dead skin.

Vitamin E is one of my all time favorite products for the harsh winter weather  because it can be use in several ways. I can apply it to my hair for a boost of shine and nutrients. Use it at night for my skin so it can be nourished to stay bright and healthy. And my nails to keep my cuticles in check. Vitamin E will spoil your hair and skin.
One of my biggest issues when the weather starts to get colder is dry, ashy feet. But thanks to Philosophy I can solve this problem. Every night,  I apply the Soul Owner cream all over my feet and then lock in the moisture with a fuzzy sock. While you are sleep, this cream is really working to exfoliate and soften the feet. So when you wake up, your feet look and feel so refreshed.

You're probably wondering Sarah E., why are you using something with the word " Hoofmaker" in it? Well, my friend you'll use it to if you had the same results I have had. This product was originally used by horse makers to moisturized their horses' hooves. The horse owners soon seen a tremendous outcome with the condition if their hands and nails. I apply the product throughout the day to my hands and nails  to prevent nail damage and rough areas. You can use this product anywhere you may been experiencing dry spots.

In the winter I am extra kind to my hair. I already have thick and coarse hair, so it does not help when it is exposed to strong wind. That is why weekly I use a deep hair mask like the one above from Neutrogena. Use a plastic hair cap so the moisture can really absorb into your hair and scalp. For years I was addicted to Morrocan Oil, but I have recently found something that might be better than it. With the Wen Replenishing Treatment (on the right) I can use it as deep scalp treatment at night or a daily hair to ad moisture to my hair. With both products I get shiny, bouncy locks that does not look like a victim of winter.

Treat your skin, body, and hair with love and care during these cold months so you can already be prepared for the summer.

                                                           With love,
                                                           Sarah E.

Boot Collection

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world."- Marilyn Monroe
That's exactly how I feel about my boots.During the winter, it is rare to see  anything other than boots on my feet. So, I decided to do a boot collection.
I  wore these boots mostly in the fall, but I still pull these off while transitioning into winter. I like pairing these boots with a flannel or just a plain thermal.
Purchased from Charlotte Russe.
These boots are absolutely adorable. I mostly wear this pair of combat boots with a flirty lace dress and tights. They give the outfit a casual vibe so you can definitely pull it off at school.
Purchased from Charlotte Russe.

I purchased these boots in the seventh grade, and still pull them out to wear. I look forward to the first chilly day in fall so I can wear them with an oversized cardigan and scarf. The color of these boots make them so universal. I'm able to wear them with skinny jeans, leggings/jeggings, and tights. Since I am only 5'2, I have to roll and scrunch them down so they can look more classy.
Purchased from Charlotte Russe.

These combat boots give me so much confidence. I love hearing the click- clack when I walk. It's like I'm working the runway at Fashion Week except I'm walking through a crowded hallway at school. They are the perfect height for my statement socks to peek through.
By the brand Wanted and purchased from Delia's.

What is a boot collection without Uggs? These lovely chestnut Uggs have been through walking from class to class in the cold and holiday shopping in the wind. I have owned these boots since fifth grade! That's long time, and they are still going strong.
Purchased from Nordstrom in 2008.
The color of this boots make them more cozy.  These really come in handy for those "dress down"days.
I have taken more care of these boots than my chestnut ones, but I have had these for a shorter time.
Purchased from Nordstrom.
Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. These are my Kesha boots. Yes, every girl needs a pair of shoes that sparkly. These were a Christmas present from last year. It is definitely hard to incorporate them into an outfit, but I had to add them to my Ugg collection.
Purchased from Dillard's.

As you can see most of my boots are purchased from Charlotte Russe. Surprisingly, they are good quality and are at a reasonable price. Boots are perfect for any of my moods: moody and for when my "Acquaintance" comes or fun and energetic. I know I do own a lot of boots, but don't be surprised if another pair pops up!
