Who Needs a Boyfriend by saraheoutlet featuring a heart sweater
Hello Superstars,
Most people think summer is perfect time to go boyfriendless. It's the time you have the freedom to make out with the random guy at the beach, which I do not recommend. But to me, fall is the time to be free of boys. Honestly, who needs a boyfriend to hookup with when you can layer?
Layering is my favorite thing about the autumn season besides burning candles. I feel I can throw anything in my closet together and get the most trendiest combination of items. Oh, and let's not forget, layering in the fall is the most social acceptable way of pulling of the "grandpa" look.
Today, we are not going with the "grandpa" look. Instead, we are taking on the feminine edge style. With this outfit I made the underlying piece a simple black flowy dress from Brandy that was most girl's key piece in the summer. Rather than showing off your legs, pair a fall statement color( i.e. maroon, plum, even mustard) tight to keep you warm and pull the outfit together with the other key pieces. Next, is a chunky knit sweater, an item you can never go wrong with in the fall/winter. You don't need to go all out with a popping color. Opt for a neutral color knit that settles out the outfit. Now, the outfit needs edge. Being the indecisive person I am, I could not just choose one jacket. So, I gave you two options: a simple green utility jacket or a camo jacket. Either one would be perfect over a feminine outfit like the one above. Of course, this fall outfit will not be complete without a cut- out bootie. If you need extra warmth, go ahead and add a scarf of your choice.
