Honey, You're a Boss by saraheoutlet featuring Dorothy Perkins
Hello Superstars,
I know,my dears, it has been awhile since I have enlightened you with my fashion sense. And I know you are probably thinking,"Sarah E., that outfit isn't exactly... Thanksgiving attire." Oh yes, it is. Thanksgiving is a time to reunite. A time to enjoy your cousin visiting from college or your newborn niece. For others, it is a time to shine in a room full of feisty attitudes and men yelling at the T.V. screen. So, this outfit is appropriate for some lil' mama to wear on Turkey Day. Don't worry ladies, there will be a more conservative Thanksgiving outfit.
I was inspired to incorporate a leather jacket after seeing this sassy woman dressed in head to toe leopard. I thought,"Leopard is the perfect holiday print." The leopard jacket/coat is a major trend and can be found in stores such as Nasty Gal, Topshop, and of course Nordstrom. I know that most girls want to be comfortable when they eat a year's worth of calories in a day, but when you wear a leopard jacket you have to go big or go home (even though you are probably at home on Thanksgiving, find somewhere else to go). You have to pull out your finest pair of leather leggings. Warning: only wear a leopard legging to a family function if your grandmother approves by giving you two snaps. I have faith in you that you'll survive wearing leather leggings. I mean you are a boss.
Now, it's time for the fun stuff: accessories. With any Sarah E. outfit a top knot is essential. Since the jacket is so spicy, I feel the hoop earring makes the perfect accessory. You might think,"Eww, that is so tacky." But have you ever seen something that was the "right tacky"? That is the category the gold hoop earring would fall under.
Another one of my favorite trends is the creeper. I think it adds the right amount of grudge while giving the outfit a glam look.
If M.A.C.'s Ruby Woo lipstick isn't already your bestfriend, then you should make it your best friend. Trust me, it will be your go to for the holiday season.
I have noticed in the past, I don't really incorporate glassware. Thanks to Audrey Hepburn, every girl knows cat eye glasses are finger snap worthy.
As you can see Superstars, Thanksgiving isn't necessarily a time to tone yourself down, but to make yourself up. Let's be honest, you may not have a boyfriend or moved out of your parent's place. At least, you are making your grandmother proud by always looking Supermodel ready.
Style It Up Superstars,
Sarah E.
*Sorry for so much sass. It is the holidays.
